Big boy jarmies.

As it's now getting somewhat cooler in Paris, Mummy bought Felix some big boy jarmies this week and he was incredibly excited to wear them tonight after his bath. They are a little long in the leg ... so Mummy is on the hunt for some hemming tape (or she may even resort to needle and thread!!).

Although after the initial excitement about the 'dog & plane' pajamas Felix was back to playing with his ball.

So looks like we will be all set for the winter months ahead. Brrrr....

Morning at the Lux.

Felix and Mummy went to the Luxembourg gardens this morning to distract ourselves from the fact that Daddy is
STILL in London.

Of course Felix went through the usual list of things we would see at the park -
"Horseys, fisheys, ducks..." and then Felix asked "Daddy?" To which Mummy replied "No, we'll see daddy tomorrow!" Four days is a long time in a Mummy and a toddler's day-to-day life.

Not long after we arrived in the park Felix was overwhelmed by the excitement of seeing the twins and frantically started waving and running towards them at high speeds, giggling at the same time. A parisian lady walking passed looked at Felix and smiled remarking "Quelle joie de vivre!".

We were armed with bread as the plan had been to do some duck feeding although it seemed we attracted more pigeons than ducks to Mummy's horror. So when the bread ran out Felix decided to push Freya's Dolly around the park...

And then it was Freya's turn...

Just as he was getting into it, Felix decided to give up on the prams and instead run up and down a little hill through the first of the autumn leaves...what fun!

And finally it was time for a nice sit down and some water to recover from all the excitement of the morning before heading home for lunch and a nice looooong siesta.

See you soon Daddy!!

Run-ning.

Mummy and Felix wandered off to Jardin Atlantique one morning this week to exert some energy. Also it seems to usually be a few degrees warmer than elsewhere so its nice to enjoy the slightly warmer temperatures. And there are lots of places to run around and explore.

Of course the mini stroller came with us and Felix had great fun mastering the steps with it ... going up & going down, going up & going down, going up & going down. Things are very repetitive at this age.

But best of all Felix was able to practise his recently aquired skill ... RUNNING. (Walking is SOOOO last year!) He has recently taken to speedily running off whilst he chants "run-ning, run-ning, run-ning" ...

He is incredibly proud of himself too ...

If not a little weary afterwards

Happy Birthday Nanna Carol.

This is a special birthday wish for Felix's Nanna Carol
in Sydney to say Happy Birthday and we hope you have had a really lovely day. We'll have to keep more of the celebrations for when we return to Sydney for a holiday next February.

Joyeux anniversaire!!!

Ben's Party.

Today Felix went to Ben's 2nd birthday party. Ben turned the big T-W-O on September 25th, two days before Felix's Sydney Grandma Carol's birthday. It was great to get the little ones together as they have been socialising in the same playgroup since Felix was about 4 months old (Jasmine, Ben, Stuart, Olivia and Felix).

Felix was very excited en route and insisted on carrying the present all the way to Ben's house. Although wasn't so keen to hand it over when we arrived, until the chocolate biscuits & sultanas arrived of course.

Ben's Mummy made a fabulous chocolate bear cake which was delicious and Felix suitably 'pigged out' on gateaux, biscuits and sultanas for most of the afternoon and was not-at-all interested in dinner later on.

At one stage at the party, Mummy discovered Felix and Ben in Ben's room and the birthday boy was reading Felix a story. It was very cute. (And in French Bon Papa!)

Oh to be young again! And Happy Birthday Ben!!

Playdoh.

Some time ago Mummy bought some Playdoh and whilst Felix has already played with it a few times, this past weekend he really seemed to get into the whole idea and was continually asking us 'Playdoh?
Playdoh? Playdoh?'. Needless to say we gave in and Felix insisted on playing with the purple tub.

Whilst Felix was quietly entertaining himself Daddy spoke to the Queensland grandparents to make sure they arrived back safely and were recovering from their jetlag after their 8 weeks in Europe.

Of course Felix seized the opportunity to steal the phone and have a chat to Nanny and cast aside the 'playdoh'. (well for the time being anyway)

No doubt there will be more 'playdoh?' demands this week.

Oh, and he looks like such a miserable child doesn't he?

Indoor picnics.

Mummy and Daddy had planned to go to Parc Montsouris today for a picnic with 13 month old Etienne & his parents but alas it seemed to be raining on-and-off so we decided to play it safe and picnic indoors.

Of course the two boys (in their matching overalls) were more interested in playing with the toys and chatted away whilst the parents enjoyed lots of food, some nice wines and some decadent pastries (read lots of WINE!).

Etienne was particularly taken by the Wheeley Bug.

All-in-all it was a somewhat different picnic but still good fun. Needless to say after picking for most of the afternoon not too much dinner was required!!

Jazz trios.

Daddy went out to the football this afternoon to watch Arsenal play (surprise surprise) and so Mummy and Felix spent Saturday afternoon together 'sans papa'.

Mummy was feeling particularly uninspired by the whole park idea but knew that a good run around would do Felix some good. So they set off...

Luckily en route Mummy and Felix stumbled across some live music that was coming from a quiet little
local park and it just so happened a jazz trio was playing.

After the initial surprise of having a live band playing at the park, Felix bumped into his friend Auguste and he started playing with the big boys. Felix was thrilled and Auguste, very sweetly, took Felix under his wing whilst Mummy enjoyed the music.

Felix was on energy overdrive and had a great time playing with the boys and again showed Mummy his newfound energy and just what lies ahead in the 'little boys club'. Eeek.

Of course taking after his Daddy, no Saturday would be complete without football and so Felix decided to indulge in a match
with the big boys who were very accommodating ... even if Felix was facing the wrong way (and at times, dancing on the field).

Then it was back to the music for a final shimmy before we hooked up with Daddy and meandered home after a very spontaneous & enjoyable afternoon of entertainment.

Felix's oldest friend.

When Felix was in Mummy's tummy, Mummy used to work with a russian lady called Katia. Katia also had a baby bump and so the two bumps spent a lot of time together (although they probably didn't realise it at the time).

Later that year Felix was born and Alexia arrived six weeks later in January 2005. Alexia has now grown up into a gorgeous little toddler.

Yesterday Alexia & her Mummy came over to have a playdate at Felix's house.

Felix was very happy to share his toys with Alexia, especially his tricycle.

They had great fun riding around the apartment, eating pastries and enjoying toddler-hood. Felix was quite taken by Alexia and really enjoy giving her lots of little kisses as the afternoon progressed.

It was very sweet although by about the 10th bisous Alexia seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the affection by Felix. So Alexia and her Mummy set off home whilst Felix seemed quite chuffed with the days events.

So it seems the twins might just have a run for their money.

Apple.

Felix has a new fascination of the month. Apples. Granny smiths, Gala, Pink ladys, Golden delicious ... he loves them all. And Felix especially enjoys the juicy ones...(look carefully for that drop of fresh apple juice!!)

And I think he feels very chuffed to be eating them all by himself like a big boy.

However it seems ALL the fruit is now called Apples.
The battles started with Daddy whilst reading 'The very hungry caterpillar'. When they would
get to the orange page Felix would protest that ... No they were actually apples. And the "Apple" "Orange" debate started.

Now it seems that when we give Felix a peach or a nectarine he again insists that they are Apples and the "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" debate starts again. But he does have a somewhat cheeky grin that sneaks in every now and then, that makes Mummy and Daddy think its another one of the little tricksters games.

I think we'll just go with it!

Water & steps.

We have a cheeky little monkey and his name is Felix and he gets into
everything. A few days ago we went to the Geroges Brassens park for a nice walk and Felix discovered a little water fountain to play in.

It didn't take Felix long to realise it was great fun to splash the water around and of course to get suitably drenched.

It wasn't an overly warm day so Mummy decided to lure him away from the water and entice him to the steps. For step climbing practise. Felix is getting pretty good at going up and down steps now and likes to do it all-by-himself.

Mummy was a little nervous but he seemed to manage just fine and we made it home unscathed - just a little damp!
