Polar bear?

Felix & Mummy have been talking about going to Australia and all the people we will see - Nanna Carol, Kim, Barrie, Nanny & Pappie, Caitlin, Luka, Lyla, Liam...(to name just a few).
Of course the conversation then moves on to the animals we will see, the kookaburra, koala, kangaroo etc. Last night he looked at Mummy inquisitively and asked "Polar Bear?".
At which point Mummy had a fit of giggles!

Paris Aquarium.

This morning Felix was feeling much better and luckily there were no signs of spots. So Felix & Mummy set off for the Ciné-Aqua or Paris Aquarium.

Felix was pretty excited to see all the fish and kept running from room-to-room saying "More fish! More fish!"

Although strangely enough when we saw the Shark Tank he wasn't quite so keen and kept a very firm grip of Mummy's hand.

After seeing all the fish it was time for Felix and Mummy to have some lunch in the kid-friendly café.

And then we set off back for home being quite content having seen all the fishies.

By which stage Felix was exhausted and slept all the way home!

Poorly Felix.

Poorly little Felix kept his Mummy & Daddy up last night coughing and spluttering all night long.

So today Felix and Mummy had the day at home playing games, singing songs and watching The Wiggles.

Saw the Doc tonight who said it could be chicken pox (!!!!) and to keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Needless to say Mummy and Felix were not overjoyed as they fly to Australia 'sans Daddy' on Sunday! Eeekkk...

Gouter with Anika.

Sunday afternoon Felix, Mummy and Daddy joined Anika and her parents, not too far away from Versailles, for an afternoon 'gouter'.

Felix was feeling a little under the weather and wasn't quite himself. But once he saw all of Anika's toys he seemed to cheer up.

Isabella and her Mummy and Daddy were there too and for some reason all the little-uns (literally) were drawn to Isabella's Daddy.

A lovely afternoon was had by all!

Alas when we returned home our night was a disaster with a sickly Felix waking up on the hour every hour. Poor Felix, Daddy and Mummy!!

Winter chill!

This week winter has finally arrived in Paris with some super chilly sub zero temperatures.

Yes, the cold has been somewhat unbearable, but luckily Australia is just around the corner!

Thanks to the marvels of layering (and leggings) Felix is staying toasty warm.

And the chilly weather doesn't seem to phase him too much.

Being Saturday today, we had a nice little family stroll up to the butcher and the baker (alas we couldn't find the candlestick maker!).

And then it was back home to our toasty warm abode for some lunch.

Happy Australia Day!

It's Australia Day today (as well as Aunty Caitlin's birthday) and so Felix wanted to wear his Australia t-shirt from Ash, JR and Luka.

Unfortunately the temperatures were sub zero outside so some layering was required under (and over) the t-shirt.

Felix didn't mind and was simply feeling proud to be wearing the Australian flag!

Felix is crossing his fingers that we'll all be there really soon (only 10 sleeps to go).

Happy Birthday Aunty Caitlin!

Happy Birthday Aunty Caitlin from Felix, Daddy & Mummy in Paris. Hope you have a lovely day celebrating your birthday and Australia Day! Felix will be frocking his Australia shirt all day (with thanks to Luka, Ash & JR).

Bonjour.

Felix has recently taken up the habit of greeting people with a very friendly (and loud) 'Bonjour'.

Often when we walk down the street he will say 'Bonjour' to people walking past, people in a shop and especially if we see people we know.

Amazing to see how many faces lighten up as a result of such a friendly young chap!

(These also happen to be Mummy's favourite photos 'de la semaine'!)

The World of Skype.

Felix is fast becoming a techno-maniac. He loves Mummy's iPod, loves the computer, the remote control and now the latest 'craze de la semaine' is Skype.

He started with Bon Papa...

Then Aunty Kim and Uncle Barrie...

Nanna Carol and Uncle Jonso....

And even our Paris friends, Isabella and Charlotte.

What a different place the world is these days - even the bears are getting in on the action!

Singing & puppets.

Felix is becoming quite the little entertainer and is usually heard singing
around the apartment.

He also quite enjoys playing with his little puppets and chattering away to himself.

Mummy and Daddy are not entirely sure what the puppet (or Felix) is saying most of the time but he seems to have great fun.

Oh life is just so much fun when you are only two years old.

Leisurely wake ups.

Felix has taken to getting up from his nap very, very slowly. Sometimes he likes to play in his cot for up to 3o minutes. But he seems to have a little menagerie to keep him entertained. So why not!

Bella's Party.

Felix, Mummy and Daddy went to Isabella's 2nd Birthday party on Sunday afternoon.

And of course birthday parties mean lots of special treats. There was some yummy fairy bread to taste...

Some super delicious chocolate cake, with a side of mini cupcakes...

A change of attire for the birthday girl into a beautiful Fairy dress.

A fabulous game of pass the parcel, with presents for EVERYONE ...

Some fun moustaches to wear...

And lots of bubbles to play with...

And the parents (and parents to be) all had lots of bubbles too - in the form of champagne.

And yes, I think everyone would agree, the day was a great success!

Satur-dee lunches.

Today Felix, Mummy and Daddy went to Etienne's house for a delicious lunch of lamb stew thanks Tracey & Arnaud. Not bad for a Satur-dee lunch!

Felix had fun with young Etienne and all of his toys, especially his cars.

But best of all he enjoyed pretending to be an adult at the big table whilst waiting for the delicious mi-cuit chocolate desert! (Thanks Trace it was super yummy!)

After a leisurely lunch Etienne was bummed that it was raining out on the streets of Paris, so we couldn't go for a nice big walk!

And instead Felix proceeded to take the bossy boots role by telling Etienne to 'Ssshhhhh....' when he spoke to loudly.

Nothing like having someone to play big brother to, is there Felix??

Watch out Luka, Liam and Lyla!
