The 1st pony ride.

So after what feels like months of waiting, Felix had his first Pony Ride on Saturday at the Luxembourg gardens - the very place where Daddy had his first pony ride many moons ago.

Felix was very excited and patiently waited his turn to go on with all the other children. However Mummy was feeling just a little bit nervous although quickly forgot her nerves whilst trying to keep up with the ponies to capture the moment.

Luckily Felix was all rugged up so if there were any accidents at least he had some padding...

But of course Felix took it all in his stride and had a great time, enjoying some good chuckles during the ride.

But all too quickly it was time to finish the ride and say au revoir to the little ponies. Although I am sure we will be seeing them again very soon.

In fact we may just have to organise a little pony ride with some friends on Tuesday to celebrate the Melbourne Cup.

Yes, it was a while ago that Bon Papa stood where Daddy was... Same look of anguish on the parents faces and abandonned excitement on the riders faces !

We'll have to schedule a pony ride for when you are here at Christmas time Bon Papa.

I'm sure Felix will be a pro by then!!

Does Mummy mean that I have to ride with Felix ? I must be warned in advance, for I'll need to order a "stiffner" at the café, corner rue Vavin and rue d'Assas... You know the place dont' you ?

I'm sure a stiffner (or two) can be arranged Bon Papa.

It will be Christmas time after all!!

In Daddy's days, there was a small cart drown by poor poneis older than all of us together and used to carry around grand parents and great grand parents who could not walk alongside on account of too much wobbliness of the walking stick and "fumes" of dubious nature (see Café Vavin) that would have altered the decorum demanded by the occasion.
