Aunty Boo visits.

Daddy's oldest friend Antoinette or rather Aunty Boo as the little-ees call her, came to visit us from London for the weekend armed with some great kiddie books for Felix so he was a very happy little man.

We decided to take advantage of the sunny weather and go to Parc Montsouris for a picnic armed with some delicious quiches from our favourite bakery Eric Kayser.

Mummy thought if she snuggled up with Felix he might give her some of his canellé
(a very decadent treat) but alas he seemed to have a rather firm hold of it.

We bumped into Margot and her parents who were also enjoying the sunshine at Parc Montsouris and were relaxing after their recent whirlwind international tour to Australia.

Felix was really happy to spend the afternoon with them and play with Margot whilst the paparazzi happily snapped away. He was quite taken by Margot and continued to practise saying 'Arrr-ggo' all afternoon (and weekend).

All-in-all it was a most enjoyable relaxing afternoon

... as is evident from the fact that Daddy actually fell asleep for a while ...

... whilst Felix polished off his sultanas with a very comfortable back rest. What a life !

Bon Papa is completely out of date, as far as Parisian fads are concerned... What is a "canellé" ???

A canellé is a Bordeaux speciality - it's a squishy, slightly rubbery cinnamon tasting round cake. They have to be absolutely fresh, otherwise it's a bit like eating sweet squid.

Nothing wrong with squids, sweet or otherwise, we eat a lot if them in Nice... particularly when they are presented in carpacio style, an absolute delight... but Bon Papa is glad to know what a canellé is. He will ask Madame Palenque, THE authority in Vence as far as cakes et al are concerned, to bake some canellé for his Sunday breakfast. Will keep you posted on her prowess... (or is it prouesse ?)
