London Days.

Mummy and Felix hit the streets of London yesterday, although with winds of 70 mph and rain it was a bit difficult to keep our smiles at times.

So after a bit of shopping in the morning and a lunch with Antoinette, we decided to stop into a cafe for a smoothie and a gâteau.

Being the true sag that he is Felix charmed the staff and before Mummy knew it, all of the staff were waving at him from behind the counter.

Everyone in the cafe, including Mummy, was in fits of giggles.

He certainly isn't shy our Felix!

Fast Train.

Felix was so excited about catching the fast train to London that he decided to miss his afternoon nap on Wednesday (to Mummy's horror).

But he made sure he packed lots of things into his bag to entertain himself on the train (including lots of things to eat).

Felix was pretty impressed with the Eurostar and found it lots of fun.

And luckily for both Daddy and for Mummy he was a very good little boy on the train.

Phew ... as it can be real hit and miss travellling with toddlers!

Photo of the Moment.

Here is one of Mummy's favourite photos-of-the-moment. A little boy in action.

Felix, Mummy and Daddy are off to London today on the fast train so see you really soon!

The Champs-Elysées.

Felix and Mummy went to La plus belle avenue du monde, the Champs-Elysées
today for Felix's gouter* and to visit Aunty Eva.

Felix was pretty excited to be out and about and especially to be seeing Mummy's good friend Aunty Eva again.

Sure enough Aunty Eva won Felix over and even gave him some coins to add to his collection (the fad of the week).

It goes without saying that he was thrilled to bits.
*Gouter is afternoon tea for the little-ees.

Felix & Iris.

Felix had his bestest friend Iris over to play today and as usual he was in complete 'alpha male' mode. Although he wasn't overly thrilled at sharing his toys.

But eventually he came around and started sharing (thankfully) and they started doing the Maisy puzzle together (or rather Mimi as she is called in France).

Iris is very good at puzzles and young Felix learnt a few neat tips and tricks for his puzzle solving. Merci Iris!

Felix couldn't think of a better person to share his afternoon milk with.

Yes, he is absolutely smitten!

Bedtime antics.

Did you know that a certain little toddler has about 10 soft toys that he sleeps with every night? Not only that but after Mummy and Daddy turn of the light Felix will often play with them for an hour or so. He often likes to tell them about his day, read them stories and this week he has even started to sing to them.

Sunday croissants.

Sunday morning means
croissant morning in our household...

Mummy and Daddy only treat ourselves to croissants once a week, otherwise it is simply too tempting.

And of course young Felix is quite partial to croissants and no sooner has he finished one, does he ask for "More?"

Little black cats.

One afternoon this week Mummy decided to take some inspiration from young Paige and turn Felix into a Pussy Cat.

Felix was a little surprised to see a little black cat complete with whiskers, black nose and little pointy ears in the mirror.

But it didn't take him long to warm up to the idea.

Meow!

Park whispers.

This morning Felix and Mummy set off for Parc Montsouris to have a nice morning run around outdoors.

Felix, of course, was all rugged up and Mummy had made a packaged lunch of cheese & vegemite sandwiches. It's nice to have lunch outdoors - even in winter sometimes.

Felix and Mummy listened to the whispers coming from a new contemporary art installation, which starts when people sit on the park benches.

Felix found it most intriguing as the whispers were special love messages in lots of different languages.

And of course like most two year olds, the morning ended in tears when it was time to leave the park and go home again for a nice long afternoon nap.

Cruel Mummy for taking a photo, but it really was such a funny sight. Don't you think?

Nose.

"Mummy. Mummy..." Felix bellows from his bedroom an hour after going to bed last night.

Mummy races in at high speeds. "Yes darling is everything okay?"

Felix replies "Nose" and repeats again "Nose".

Mummy is puzzled and starts wondering what he meant by "Nose". Felix is vaguely looking in the direction of the Geisha painting just outside his door.

Could he see her nose through the ajar door?

Has he hurt himself on the nose?

Felix repeats "Nose. Nose." and passed Mummy a very special little something from his nose.

Ah, now Mummy understands!

Abbesses.

Yesterday was Daddy's last day of holidays so we had a family outing to Abbesses where Felix had some fun on the carousel.

And of course one ride turned into two...

Which turned into three...

And then arm-in-arm with little Babar we set off for Daddy's favourite clothes shop to do some well deserved shopping for Mummy and Daddy.

The Perfect New Year's Day.

Paris decided to surprise us on New Year's Day with the most beautiful sunny winter weather for the welcome of 2007.

So Felix, Mummy and Daddy wasted no time and set off for Parc Montsouris.

For a lovely stroll in the tranquility of the park.

Felix loved seeing all of the joggers out and about
(obviously lots of New Year's resolutions) and within minutes of arriving, he raced down the grassy hill.

Felix discovered a great new playground which we hadn't been to before and had great fun exploring.

There were even some see-saws which are a rarity in Paris...

And of course on such a gorgeous day who could resist feeling happy and thinking of some new fun adventures for 2007.

Happy 2007 everyone!

Hello 2007.

Felix celebrated New Year's Eve with Mummy and Daddy with their friends who live a few doors up the street. It was a little gathering of about 20 people (half of which were under 10).

Including Felix's best friend Iris, who he also happens to have a bit of a crush on - do you blame him?

Felix also had great fun with Iris's older sister
during the meal (whilst the parents enjoyed the french champagne and nibblies).

And of course no New Year celebration would be complete without a surprise birthday cake for Daddy ...

With all 'les enfants' singing a lovely version of Happy Birthday (funnily enough in english as is the tradition in France).

All-in-all a great night with a certain young toddler staying up for the arrival of the New Year and finally getting to sleep about 1am* (Eeek).

Little party animal!

*But luckily he did sleep in until 10am the next morning.
