Le vrai parisien.

There's a new coffee connoisseur in Paris. And yes, it is none other than the 'nearly 2 year old' Master Felix!

Okay so he doesn't actually taste the coffee but he loves trying the seats and dipping the spoon in Daddy's empty noisette cup.
And if you look very carefully Bon Papa, you'll be sure to recognise Le Dôme!!

Clementines.

So we are in the middle of clementine season in France and let me tell you they are absolutely delicious.

Felix is pretty pleased with himself that he can sit at his own table, peel the clementine(s) and eat them all-by-himself. And pretty quickly too.

Only thing is all this week Felix has only wanted to eat fruit! Hmmm... (*The mini symbolises Daddy returning from London tonight - Yipee!!)

Grape season.

So grape season is well and truly upon us here in France and Felix just LOVES his grapes. Each weekend Felix and Daddy get a nice big bunch of grapes from our local markets.

Felix is particularly partial to the red ones and it's pretty impossible to open the fridge without Felix asking for some grapes.

He likes to have them from his little cup and pick them one by one of the stem and doesn't seem to mind eating the little seeds inside.

Guess Mummy and Daddy had better stock up some more grapes pretty quickly.

Little soldiers & egg.

Daddy was on dinner duty tonight and thought it was about time Felix had some little soldiers with soft gooey egg. Felix was pretty pleased when he realised it was a hands on dinner and promptly started dipping his soldiers into his egg.

Unlike most other little people Felix hasn't had a huge amount of eggs in his time as he had baby eczema and had to avoid them to prevent any allergies from developing.

But it seemed he made up for lost time and really enjoyed the little soldiers and the gooey mess they made. Perhaps Daddy (and the soldiers) will have to be on dinner duty more often!!

Apple.

Felix has a new fascination of the month. Apples. Granny smiths, Gala, Pink ladys, Golden delicious ... he loves them all. And Felix especially enjoys the juicy ones...(look carefully for that drop of fresh apple juice!!)

And I think he feels very chuffed to be eating them all by himself like a big boy.

However it seems ALL the fruit is now called Apples.
The battles started with Daddy whilst reading 'The very hungry caterpillar'. When they would
get to the orange page Felix would protest that ... No they were actually apples. And the "Apple" "Orange" debate started.

Now it seems that when we give Felix a peach or a nectarine he again insists that they are Apples and the "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" "Apple" "Nectarine" debate starts again. But he does have a somewhat cheeky grin that sneaks in every now and then, that makes Mummy and Daddy think its another one of the little tricksters games.

I think we'll just go with it!

Sangers, water & gazing.

Nothing beats eating a sanger outside on a nice warm Parisian day. And given that winter is just around the corner, Felix is making the most of alfresco dinning whilst he can.

Luckily Felix LOVES drinking water so he always washes down his meal armed with his sippy cup and usually asks for 'more' indicating whether he wants it in the blue cup or the green cup. (You have to pick your battles with a strong willed toddler so usually Mummy and Daddy appease him with these minor requests).

Then it's back to the sandwich followed by some lovely summer fruits and of course a 20%.
(Mummy read recently that toddlers spent 20% of their time gazing and observing, Felix particularly likes gazing up at the big trees outside our apartment.)

The little boy's schwerma.

Whilst we were in Heidelberg we decided to have a quick meal on the run and bought some schwermas. Knowing that Felix LOVES to eat what Mummy and Daddy are eating, we bought him one too.

(I know, I know, BAD PARENTS!)

The funny thing was that the schwerma was actually bigger than Felix's head ... needless to say he was very chuffed with himself.

At one stage Daddy was hovering for a taste and Felix very quickly pointed his little index finger at his own schwerma and said 'Zee-zeat' and pointed at Daddy's schwerma and said 'Dad-die' making it very clear which schwerma belonged to whom. (Mummy will remember that technique!)

A very clever little man to let his Daddy know that there was no way he was getting any of Felix's schwerma.

I have to say whilst he didn't eat all of it ... he polished off most of it and washed it down with a freshly squeezed kiwi juice.

No doubt the years will bring many more schwermas!
