Big brother Felix!

The official news is that Felix now has a little sister - Astrid Lily Hannah, born on October 12th 2007 at 18.18.

So far she seems to be a very similar temperament to her brother when he was a baby - very calm.

Felix was terribly keen to have his first cuddle on her first day home from hospital.

Let's hope he continues to be such a great big brother!

Déjà vu - The Ferris Wheel.

We had such a great time last weekend on the Ferris Wheel with Uncle Jonno that we decided to go back up with Nanny and Pappie.

And being a perfect Parisian sunny afternoon the view definitely made it worthwhile - even for Nanny who isn't that fond of heights.

Afterwards we took a lovely stroll through the Tuilleries and looked at the reminant fire displays from the 'Nuit Blanche' the night before.

I don't think there was a better place for an afternoon stroll today with such lovely deep blue skies ... and not a bad backdrop either!

Being Fashion Week there was a certain buzz in the air ... or was that the music pumping out from the Gautier parade???

Oblivious to everything, Felix was being his typical cheeky self playing around with Pappie in the sunshine (ouch, poor Pappie).

A great afternoon was had by all.

The Wallabies.

Saturday afternoon was Rugby afternoon and we all sat down to watch the Wallabies play England ... strategically Felix pulled up his chair right beside the bowl of chips.

Being the first Rugby game Felix had watched he was somewhat surprised by what was happening on the screen ... and came out with some funny statements ...

"Oh look they've had an accident!"
"He pushed that man Mummy!"
"Ow"

Then he caught onto the usual cheers ... and there was no holding him back.

And if you look really closely on the screen you can see Uncle Jonno in the crowd as he was actually watching the game in Marseille.

This afternoon Felix, Mummy and Uncle Jonno set off for an afternoon at the Luxembourg Gardens (our neighbourhood Château).

It was a rather moody day (dependant on whether the sun was behind a cloud or not) but we had lots of fun anyway by throwing little pebbles into the pond...

Some playing in the huge pile of autumn leaves ...

Uncle Jonno and Felix even discovered a little grasshopper ...

(Although Felix was a bit dubious and didn't quite share Uncle Jonno's enthusiasm).

And then Uncle Jonno treated us to a gouter.

Nanny & Pappie arrive!

Nanny & Pappie arrived safely in Paris today after a very long journey from Australia. Felix was terribly excited to see them especially as they had some Thomas the Tank engine carriages for him - Annie and Clarabel. No doubt we'll be having lots of fun adventures with them.

After lots of long walks, running up and down hallways, naps in little-big-boy chairs (and generally causing chaos), it was time to say goodbye to Louis.

Felix didn't want him to go as they had lots of fun together. But as Mummy said we can see him again sometime soon.

Sunday afternoon we took Uncle Jonno for a lovely Parisian stroll around the Tuilleries.

It was a gorgeous autumn afternoon so we decided to stop and enjoy the ambience in one of the cafés inside the gardens.

Smiles all around!

Especially when we decided to get afternoon tea - a plethora of sweet delights.

Now which dessert to have???

It's always nice for us to have visitors as it makes us appreciate this beautiful city we live in.

Fingers crossed we'll have a few more days like these before winter hits!

Uncle Jonno and the Ferris Wheel.

Felix, Mummy and Daddy had a surprise visit from Uncle Jonno on Saturday who is visiting Paris (from New York) for about 10 days.

So our usual Sunday morning breaky included both Uncle Jonno and little Louis (you can spot him under the table!).

We set off for the Ferris wheel at Concorde which is in Paris for the duration of the World Cup Rugby.

Up, up and up we went into the sky for a spectacular view of Paris - Concorde and the Champs Elysées ... (and Mummy)

Invalides and The Eiffel Tower ... (and Uncle Jonno)

Place Concorde, the Eiffel Tower & the Grand Palais ...

And of course Mummy, Felix and Daddy.

We were at the perfect height to look down over Paris and see everything.

And it certainly helped that it was a gorgeous autumn day!

And of course, a gorgeous city too!

Have to say it was a great experience and well worth doing. Hope you enjoyed the piccys too!

Louis Visits!

We had a little visitor arrive 'chez nous' on Friday ... a little schitzu called Louis, who is staying with us for the weekend.

Felix and Louis were a little frosty at first ... getting to know each other I guess.

But it didn't take long before they were getting on like a house on fire and Louis settled himself into the apartment, claiming Felix's chair in the process.

But Felix didn't seem to mind and was happy to share with such a cute little puppy dog!

Felix & the Ice-cream!

Now that is grey and gloomy and COLD in Paris, Mummy wants to do some reminiscing back to a few weeks ago when we were eating Ice-creams in the park.

Felix wanted a chocolate ice-cream and so we indulged him (to his joy).

It was his first real time eating a proper ice-cream cone ...

So Daddy gave him some special 'ice-cream eating' techniques.

As an adult you kinda take it all for granted and lick away the drips, but for a toddler it is a somewhat tricky experience.

Resulting in chocolate everywhere!

And oh the sugar chocolatey rush afterwards!

On Sunday we set off to watch Australia play Fiji in the Rugby World Cup with The 'S' family.

Felix was all kitted up in aussie gear and Daddy was stocked with lots of beer and Innocent smoothies.

There was a bit of cheekiness en route ... pretty usual from Felix!

Before a quick panic realising we didn't have the door codes and everyones mobiles were off...

But within a few minutes we were inside supporting the Aussies.

(Alas no photos from the afternoon as it was all a bit mad with 7 little-uns between 6 months and 4 1/2 years and 9 adults! And to be honest, I am not too sure how much Rugby was actually watched!!)

Well the good news is that even though Daddy has been in London for TWO days it seems The Bump has decided to stay put until after Daddy arrives back home (later tonight).

Daddy isn't planning any more trips for a wee while so seems that we are in the clear (phew from Mummy!). Let's just hope that he / she can stay put until Nanny & Pappie arrive in Paris on October 3rd so Felix has some company whilst we do that hospital dash!

(Mummy has had to resort to taking self portraits of the bump as we have been rather lax this time around. Sorry Baby Bump!)

Felix has been seeing quite a lot of young Isabella recently, now that her family have moved back into central Paris.

Felix and Isabella have become somewhat partners in crime of late.

Getting up to all kinds of adventures.

But at least they keep themselves entertained so us Mummies can have a good chit-chat!

Now that Felix is a Big Boy, he likes to catch the bus and sit in a proper seat - not in the pram.

Understandably so, as it is far more interesting to look out the window and spot all those Ratatouille posters around town.

Will be some time before his feet touch the ground ...

But at least it means we can leave the MacLaren at home most days!

Pony Riding!

The sun was shinning in Paris today so we set off for lunch in the Luxembourg Gardens.

Felix of course had one thing on his mind - Pony Rides!

So off he set on a little white pony.

Then Felix eyed off the little brown and white pony ... pretty please Daddy!

... and he had yet another Pony Ride!

He must get his passion for riding from his Nanna Carol & Mummy!

It was such a gorgeous afternoon.

So we lapped up the sunshine knowing there would only be a few more sunny Sundays left to enjoy ...

... before the colder weather comes and the little bub - eeeeekkkk!

Ben's Party.

On Saturday afternoon we went to Ben's 3rd birthday party ... and Felix made a b-line to play with the trains in Ben's room (surprise surprise!).

There were lots fun things to do like play pass the parcel...

Which was lots of fun for everybody!

Opening all of Ben's great presents...

And generally causing all kinds of havoc, especially in the birthday boy's room.

All-in-all a great success!

There is no school (or pre-school) in Paris on Wednesdays (go figure) and so today Mummy and Felix went for a nice little wander around our neighbourhood.

Mummy thinks it is always good to get little boys out of the apartment to use up some of their energy - even if it makes an 8 month pregnant Mummy a little tired!

We popped into the local fruit & veg shop on the way back and bought some yummy peaches, as Felix just loves his fruit!

And the best thing for Mummy was arriving home and getting lots of cuddles and kisses from Felix who has turned incredibly affectionate of late.

Perhaps he has insider information on the changes that are to come 'chez nous' in the next month?

We went to visit Isabella a few weeks ago and as usual Felix & Isabella were into all kinds of mischief together. Isabella showed off her dancing skills ... although Felix seemed somewhat oblivious ... typical boy!

We had a lovely Sunday today and kicked off with a brunch this morning with the lovely Eva.

Felix (being the lady man he is) was under Eva's spell from the moment she arrived, impressing her with all his toys and his smooth moves!

After all the morning excitement we set off to see the Annette Messager Exhibition at the Centre Pompidou.

Of course stopping to look at the great view of Paris on the way, "Daddy look, it's the Eiffel Tower".

Mummy and Daddy were suitable impressed by how much Felix loved the gallery and the exhibition with not even a hint of touching any of the very tempting exhibits.

The boys had a few smiles along the way as they looked like two peas in a pod in their near matching ensembles ! And we created some of our own art along the way ...

So we didn't quite make the park, and instead topped off the afternoon with some sultanas - Felix didn't seem to mind!

Did you know that we have a Clean Freak living 'chez nous' and it seems to becoming more & more of a Felix personality trait. Each time we arrive home Felix straightens up the mat by the front door, this week when we popped out for a coffee Felix wiped a little ledge and showed Mummy all the dust on his fingers (with a disapproving expression very similar to the above photo where he had dirt under his finger nail). Luckily it also has the benefits of him tidying up his toys without too many protests so it's not such a bad thing I guess!

Felix, Mummy and Daddy are slowly settling into new Paris and over the past few weeks have (finally) sorted out the lounge room with a somewhat reddish theme!

Felix of course wasted no time and was straight up and into reading on the sofa (english nursery rhymes with lots of fun pictures).

Mummy and Daddy quite like to admire their most recent Aborginal artwork purchase (and the sofas not too bad either don't you think?).

Yes slowly but surely it all seems to be coming together!

First Day of Maternelle!

Today was Felix's first day of Maternelle (pre-school).

He was terribly excited to get his bag packed, get dressed and get ready to go off to school.

What a big boy (as he keeps telling Mummy & Daddy)!

We took him up to the classroom with all the other kids & parents ...

And he started playing with puzzles at the pint-sized tables.

He seemed to take it all in his stride.

No tears today for Felix ... although a few little people started up after we left (including Mummy).

So fingers crossed the transition into school (with the huge Giant sculpture on the side) goes really well for our little man!

The Secret Garden.

Felix, Mummy and Daddy set off for the Luxembourg Gardens Sunday afternoon, even though it was a somewhat gloomy Parisian day.

But all the flowers were out in fine form so we enjoyed looking at all the birds and bees tasting the delicious flower nectar.

Thanks to Daddy, we discovered a secret corner of the garden where we had never been before.

Gorgeous isn't it !

Apparently it is the park's signature "Fontaine de Medicis" a baroque fountain designed in 1624.

Afterwards we found some trees bearing some funny looking apricots which Felix took an instant liking too.

So despite the greyness the afternoon was pretty interesting with lots of new discoveries for us all!

We had a playdate with Oscar this week at playground inside the Luxembourg Gardens.

A great place for little boys to exert lots & lots of energy.

For some reason whenever we come here Felix gets an injection of energy and turns into a crazy child - running & climbing here, there and everywhere.

Sometimes it is a bit daunting for the Mummies to watch on ...

... but not so for those little boys who just seem to love it.

And the best thing ...

... are those nice long afternoon naps afterwards (for Felix AND for Mummy).

Train expressions.

Felix now relates his facial expressions to those of his much loved (and played with) Thomas the Tank Engine trains.

The two most important expressions being Gordon, with a grumpy face (see above).

And Thomas who is terribly happy all of the time.

Personally Mummy and Daddy prefer the Thomas face, luckily Felix doesn't seem to mind it at the moment either.

Le Jardin d'Acclimatation.

Sunday was another sunny day, so we decided to go to Le Jardin d'Acclimatation where there are lots of fun things to do.

Mummy & Daddy were quite overwhelmed by the amount of rides but this didn't phase Felix who was pretty keen on the Galloping Horses - Ride Number 1.

Ride Number 2 was the Carousel Rollercoaster which Felix just loved (although Mummy did have some trepidation)!

There was some serious hair twirling (an ever-present Felix past-time) ...

... before he settled on the Motor Bikes for Ride Number 3.

After all this excitement it was time to cool off ...

And why not have an ice-block to really cool down on a summer Sunday afternoon!

Our final stop was the little train that took us back into Paris.

Aaahh, what a difference the sun can make!

Rasberries.

It's rasberry season in France and Felix just LOVES rasberries.

There is a lot of concentration that goes into getting them on little fingers.

But then you can eat them really, really quickly!

And without fail once the bowl is empty Felix always asks "More Rasberries Mummy?"

Summer's FINALLY arrived!

Today,summer decided to FINALLY show itself in Paris!

So we wasted no time and set off to Parc Montsouris for our afternoon gouter.

Of course, Mummy was busy taking photos...

Daddy was taking in the rays ...

And Felix was more interested in his gouter - a banana and his carrot Smoothie!

It felt incredibly refreshing (and recharging) to have the sun out again...

... and to enjoy a lovely summer Saturday afternoon!

Made even better by some beautiful flowers that Felix and Daddy hand picked for Mummy - aaaaw!

Rain, rain go away!

Alas there hasn't been too much news to report from Paris this week ... except it is still raining!

Which means Felix and Mummy have been doing lots of things indoors (Mummy is very thankful for Felix's growing fascination in trains!).

But we have had lots of good fun together (despite how it might look below ... grumpy Felix!).

If only we could work out a way for the rain to stop ... so much for summer!

But hey, in about 10 days Felix will be starting school - he is terribly excited, understandably!

Baby Brother or Sister?

We have been doing lots of talking about the new baby who is due to arrive in early October. Felix has really taken to the idea and has just started giving Mummy's tummy lots of kisses "For the baby". Mummy & Daddy have been quite surprised by how much he really seems to 'get' the whole notion. He is terribly excited. Fingers crossed he'll remain so positive!

Day by the beach.

We set back for 'La Gougouline' today to enjoy our last day of sunshine by the seaside ...

And this time there was no wasting time for Felix who immediately started splashing around!

A bit later Daddy and Felix popped into the Mediteranean for a quick cool off.

And they even found a little fish...

But luckily they threw him back into the sea so he could join his friends!

And needless to say after the days adventures, Felix fell asleep within 5 minutes of being in the car!

(And yes still tightly gripping his beach toys).

Our Trip to St Tropez.

We set off today for St Tropez but instead of oogling at the spectacular yachts, browsing in shops and bumping into Bruce Willis ... instead we were stuck in a major traffic jam!

So having spent nearly 1.5 hours at a stand still we decided to set off into the hills and have some lunch instead.

A much better plan of attack and a delicious meal too!

Alas, we didn't stock up on our St Tropez sandals but we'll just have to pop down out of season next time!

And at least Mummy and Felix managed to get through quite a bit of reading!

The Football Game.

Sunday afternoon it was time for a game of football between father and son (note how clean Felix looks in these photos).

So off we went to Place du Grand Jardin, just around the corner from Bon Papa's for a friendly footy match.

The boys had great fun running around although it was a little dusty ...

And being a little boy, Felix's bottom half was covered in dirt (to Mummy's joy!).

But you can't get between a man and his football as Mummy has learnt with thanks to Daddy!

Judging from his smile, I think Felix was the winner!

Saturday evening we had dinner al fresco at the 'Auberge des Seigneurs' the venue of Mummy & Daddy's French wedding in July 2003.

Not a bad little back drop hey?

Luckily Felix even had some bikes to ride on before dinner arrived ... those boys!

And as expected dinner was delicious!

First stop ... La Plage!

Being on holiday in the South of France, of course first stop was to go to 'La Plage' ...

And in fact we visited the same 'plage', La Gougouline at Cagnes-Sur-Mer, that Daddy visited as a little boy himself!

It didn't take long for everyone to take up their positions ... Felix by the pool ... Bon Papa with a cool drink ... Mummy behind the camera ...

... And Daddy lounging in the sun ...

We had a lovely day of basking in the mediteranean rays! Although our hats didn't seem to stay on for too long!

But nevertheless everyone, and most importantly Felix had a great day at the beach.

And just like any normal two-year-old promptly burst in to tears when it was time to go!

Hello Vence!

Today we set off for a week in Vence with Bon Papa to enjoy some sunshine, escape the rain in Paris. And as expected (to our joy) the sun was shinning when we arrived!

Felix was terribly excited about catching the big plane and seeing Bon Papa.

Upon arrival in Vence (our hotel in the background below) we had a quick play on the terrace...

And then met Bon Papa for a nice cool drink.

To Felix's joy, Bon Papa brought a little Spot puppy dog for him to play with(thanks to Aunty Caitlin).

Then it was time for a little wander around the old village to do some shopping for dinner!

Ah, South of France mode again!

Day 2 at the Innocent Fete.

Once again we set off for Regents Park today for day 2 at the Innocent Village Fete with Celine, Matt and Anne.

And once again the sun was shinning and it was a perfect day - a nice change from all the flooding of late in UK!

Today was a bit more relaxed than Saturday ...

But still some great things to do - like riding in the wheelbarrow.

And generally being full of beans for the day!

The weekend was great and Felix once again showed how much he loves 'a party'.

Alas that evening we said our farewells to London (and Big Ben) and returned by Eurostar to Paris!

Innocent Village Fete.

Felix, Mummy & Daddy went to London for the Innocent Village Fete on the weekend.

Felix was terribly excited about going to 'Daddy's party'.

So we met up with Uncle Dan and started enjoying the fun. First stop- The Chickens!

Next, it was time for a train ride for Felix.

Some cooling off in the shade in the 'Garden of Eden'...

Then it was time to meet Antoinette & Mark ...

And then there were the usual phone calls that the Gardan boys are prone to make ...

The rest of the afternoon was spent relaxing in the shade with Matt & Celine ...

And hanging out with all the crowds...

And the best thing it was only Day 1 of a two day party!

Ups and Downs!

Well it's week two of the holidays for Felix & a pregnant Mummy and there have already been a few little ups and downs.

Felix has been missing going to the garderie and seeing all his friends ...

And Mummy has been doing her best to entertain Felix ... but it's just not the same!

There have even been a few battles of the wills ... and it seems Felix is winning!

Who ever thought 2.5 year olds could be such a worthy opponent!

So today we played with the wild animals ... and talked about what food they eat. (Speaking of which any idea what Tasmanian Devils eat?)

Interestingly enough then it was time for the tiger to take on the lion.

Not sure which won as they both ended up on the floor.

Well at least we are all off to London tomorrow for the weekend to break 'the mood'.

Felix is getting quite imaginative and quite enjoys dressing up ... today it was as a fireman!

He also had a Mardi Gras moment last week when he insisted on spending the morning in the nude wearing just his fireman hat.

It was very entertaining for Mummy ...and so very Oxford Street Sydney.

The Yellow Coat!

It's been another wet week in Paris and so Felix has had the chance to wear his new yellow coat and his yellow gum boots - perfect for splashing in puddles!

Tuesday morning we had a few errands to do, including the washing (whilst we wait for our new washing machine to be delivered).

And then we decided to stop at our local Green Café for a tartine with honey and OJ.

Luckily we set back for home just before the rain set in again for the afternoon.

Armed with lots of apricots we set back to Paris today on the train from Biarritz. Felix was an excellent traveller and made the 5 hour trip a pleasure for Mummy. Mummy was terribly proud!

We were both excited about getting home and telling Daddy all about our adventures in Hossegor! (And the great fun we had with Iris, Iris' Mummy and her sisters! Thanks again Flo!!!)

Today we had a fix of the sea at Hossegor! It wasn't quite the sunny summer day we'd hoped for but it made for a very relaxing afternoon (cheeky Felix is pretending to be asleep!).

Felix liked listening to the waves crashing ... I think it reminded him of his adventures in Australia.

There were a few moments of calm before the craziness really set it.

Each morning in Hossegor he wakes up and says "Mummy where's Iris?". Not forgetting for one minute that he is on holidays with Iris. It's too cute seeing them together!

Our first day in Hossegor (near Biarritz) was terribly relaxing. We had a lovely big sleep in (until 9.45am) and had some lazy meals alfresco with Iris, Iris's Mummy and her sisters. Felix was in heaven!

That afternoon it was time to check out the nearby lac (or lagoon) for a quick afternoon dip.

Felix had a turn of Iris's boogie board ...

But he wasn't too keen on the icy water (neither was Mummy!).

Then we all set back home for some more delicious Basque style cuisine!

Today Mummy and Felix set off for Biarritz by TGV (super fast train) to join Iris and her family for a few days. Felix was terribly excited and had his bag packed with all his toys and was armed with his trusty green water (he won't drink from any other colour cup!). We had a great trip and arrived feeling a little weary and had crêpes on the beach for dinner.

Today Felix and Mummy went to the playground in the centre of the Luxembourg Gardens with Rikki, Freja and Max.

It was great for the little-uns to get out and explore all the fun things to do in the sunshine (even if they weren't quite within the age group of 7+)...

And all of this without shoes on!

It was a great morning for everybody - both little, big and bigger!

Felix went to play with Oscar and his little brother Vasco today at the park near Bon Marché.

The boys decided to bury themselves in the sand (to the Mummies joy!).

I can just see the trouble these three will get into in a few years! They already look like they are lingering around parks...

For today though we finished up with a ride on the carousel.

Afternoons in Paris are usually spent at the park and luckily the sun was out today and Felix was all prepared (not to mention looking ever so cool!).

We played around with the ball for a while, but afterwards all Felix wanted to do was eat fruit.

There is nothing like doing some singing to kick start a Saturday morning (after eating some delicious Australian Sultanas, thanks Ash and Nanny!).

And this morning it was The Wiggles that Felix and Mummy were singing along to.

There was a bit of dancing thrown in too (or are they Nanny's exercises?).

All-in-all a fun morning was had by all!

(And yes, it is true about little boys having lots and lots of energy! He never stops!)

Today Felix and Mummy went to have a playdate with Isabella, Raphaël and Charlotte at their new apartment.

We went to their local park and Felix and Isabella had a great time running around and playing on the slide.

(Not to mention putting baubles in their hair! And yes Felix insisted too!)

And little Raphaël watched on peacefully whilst the toddlers enjoyed the park.

What great fun until they had a big cuddle and crashed to the ground with Felix banging his head and bursting in to tears. Poor little pet!

Felix had a playdate with Iris today and after disappearing upstairs for a while they both came down in dress ups!

Being a house full of three girls (and a Mummy) there were lots of pretty dresses and skirts to choose from.

Felix was also quite taken by the sparkly magic wand...

Gee, I wonder what wish he is making ... maybe a kiss with Iris?

But hey who could blame him really ... isn't she a little princess!

Alas when we came home the little man was not overly thrilled ... perhaps it was something to do with not having his lunchtime nap.

(And yes, he did wear his sparkly skirt home all the way home.)

Okay, enough with the bad weather in Paris please!

How is a little boy and his Mummy meant to have fun if we are kept indoors whilst it pours outside?

And yes, even Felix had cabin fever today!

Until he decided to put on Mummy's shoes for a giggle - "Look Mummy!"

And then Felix resorted to the old favourite party trick ... little man down!

The sun finally ventured out today so Felix and Mummy set off to the park beside our local Mairie (Townhall).

Felix had been in a rather strange mood all day ... but slowly warmed up to the park idea.

There was lots of running, climbing, zipping down slides, throwing and catching etc ... usual park stuff.

And even Leonardo (Felix's buddy lion) had some fun too, although he was a little camera shy.

Then it was back to some serious observing the big kids and some hair twirling before we set off home for an early night!

(Oh and of course whilst we all slept soundly there was some more rain overnight ... grrr!)

Well it's been a very exhausting week. Felix has had an infection and Mummy has had Bronchitis.

Needless to say we have kept a very low profile - except for coughing and spluttering around the apartment.

To break the monotony of it all, Felix had a visitor this afternoon... (quick...who's at the door Felix?)

Ben came over to play .... although Felix wasn't overly convinced on 'sharing' the toys!

Well it has to be said this weekend hasn't been a great one for Felix and Mummy.

We've both been feeling very below average and have been coughing, blowing our noses and generally feeling very sorry for ourselves.

Luckily Simone (Felix's fabulous babysitter) came to save the day today and kept Felix amused whilst Mummy rested 'au lit' for a lovely long siesta.

Felix and Simone had great fun at the park together too!

Let's hope we are over the worst of it!

Mummy and Felix have the weekend to themselves whilst Daddy is off having fun with the Innocent crew in the South of France (Juan-Les-Pins to be precise!).

We were meant to go to Normandie for the weekend with friends but when we arrived at the station we found out our train had been cancelled. Grrr...

So back home we trekked for a quiet weekend with us both coughing and spluttering trying to get over our colds.

Hope Daddy is having some fun for us!

The 1st offical day of summer and it seems we are still waiting for some consistent warmer weather in Paris. Grrrrr....

Felix of course is all ready to go but alas it has been so hot / cold of late, Mummy never knows how many layers to take.

But Felix doesn't seem phased and seems to be keeping himself amused one way or another!

Has been a poorly time 'chez nous' this week as young Felix has a bad cold and has been feeling rather sick.

The other night Mummy asked Felix if he felt sick in his tummy to which he replied 'yes'. Then she asked if he felt sick in his throat 'yes Mummy'. And do you feel sick in your elbow? 'Oh yes Mummy!'.

Hmmm...little munchkin.

But honestly the poorly little man has been coughing and spluttering and waking numerous times a night (poor Daddy and Mummy too).

Feel free to let Mummy know if anyone has any sick elbow cures!

Garderie Party.

Felix's garderie had their annual spring party on the weekend and there were lots of fun things for Felix to do.

There were 'Wheelbarrow races' & 'Fishing for frogs' competitions.

Admiring all the artwork whilst having chats to Iris.

A highlight for Felix was seeing how many sweets he could put in his mouth at the one time.

There were flowers to re-petal.

And of course some bubble blowing (whilst the Queensland Daddies chatted in the background).

And then Felix discovered the watering cans - needless to say he became quite wet.

And the morning finished with Felix's favourite - Kisses from the girls.

The Big Boys Bed.

So it's official ... Felix has joined Luka and made the move to a Big Boy's Bed. No more cots for our little man "Cots is for babies".

The transition has been great and he loves the new found freedom. Especially playing away in the morning whilst Mummy and Daddy catch an extra bit of sleep! Although Daddy did catch him the other morning in the biscuit tin at 6.30am! Whoops!

One of the best things about settling in to a new abode is discovering all the great new places to get things and of course all the great new bakeries.

And what better way to settle in than to try out the new 'pain au chocolats' from our very own organic bakery just down the road (or rather the 'Avenue'). Miam Miam.

Finally after all this time we are back on line at New Paris. We are settling in nicely after all the excitement of the move, the french elections, the new kitchen being installed and now the internet. What excitement! So expect lots of new updates from Chez Felix!!

The morning after Meg and Dylan's wedding we went for a lovely walk after a big english breakfast in Margate.

Being at the bottom of England we waved across the Channel to France and admired the beautiful sunny english morning (not!).

We had some more fun and did some running - "Run Mummy, Run!"

At which point we had a good laugh about Felix running, Mummy running, and the baby running.

It was then time to leave the hotel and set off back to Paris on the Eurostar.

(Although the journey wasn't so bad as we had the excitement of sitting two seats away from Ralph Fiennes!)

Felix had a great time at Meg and Dylan's wedding in Margate. Mummy and Nanny were in hysterics watching Felix shimmer away on the dance floor.

We ventured acros to the UK in May for the wedding of Meg and Dylan in Margate.

Uncle Tony also came across from Paris, making it just in time for the ceremony (phew!).

Felix was pretty excited about the wedding and loved meeting more of his relatives, although he was a bit dubious after Great Uncle Tony tried to take his balloon.

Although he soon got over it!

Somehow Felix managed to score three deserts - Nanny's, Mummy's and his very own ice-cream, without anyone realising.

But he managed to boogie it all off at the kids disco ... with some very impressive dance floor moves!

(Just like his Daddy!)

A great time was had by all!

Felix, Mummy and Daddy have had a little visit from Nanny who came to stay for a couple of weeks.

As you can imagine Felix was pretty excited to have his Nanny here all the way from Mooloolah Valley and promptly showed her his favourite see-saw at Parc Montsouris.

New Paris!

So tomorrow we are moving into our new abode and young Felix is pretty excited.

He spoke today about leaving Paris and going to his new bedroom. Mummy reassured him that his new room was still actually in Paris. He looked at me a little bewildered and said 'Oh, Old Paris and New Paris!'.

So it's off to 'New Paris' we go! See you soon (although it could be a little while till we get up and running again internet-wise).

Parks, Daddy & Jumping!

The great thing about where we live in Paris, are there are so many different parks that Felix rarely gets bored.

And even better some days (okay on weekends) Daddy gets to join us too...

And the boys can do some rock climbing together...

Or they can go through tunnels together (okay, maybe it's just Felix who goes through tunnels!).

And of late, Felix has a new obsession - JUMPING!

It makes a nice change of pace from our upcoming move (in just 2 more sleeps)!

(And yes, Mummy is procrastinating just a little!)

Today we visited our new apartment (whilst we waited for hours for new furniture to be delivered).

Felix was armed with his trains (Molly and James) and some more new shoes so he was quite content!

Nothing like a train race on Friday morning. Choo, Choo!!

And of course Felix loved seeing his new bedroom again. So much space to play!

Although for a minute Mummy thought there was a rather strict door policy! (But Felix, I'm ON the guest list!!)

But she managed to make it through...phew!

Three more sleeps and we'll be moved in!* Yippee!!

Orange shoes & little girls.

So after the new orange shoe discovery Felix and Mummy hit the park to enjoy some afternoon sunshine, armed with his Wiggle ball from Lyla.

It didn't take long before Felix had his usual female following. The question is was it the orange shoes, the Wiggles ball, or those golden locks?

Actually Mummy thinks the camera was the magnet as the little girl in the spotted dress insisted on her photo being taken and seeing it on the screen (aah, the toddlers of today!).

Once the girls were out of the way Felix could get back to the serious business of 'working out' on the stairs...

With thanks to his zippy new shoes! Not bad huh?

Then it was back to typical boy stuff, falling over in the dirt. (Sigh another load of washing for Mummy!)

As a parent you continually ask yourself 'Why'? And this months 'Why' question is 'Why isn't Felix sleeping?'.

Aaarrrrgh....it is driving us all crazy.

Is it nightmares? Is it the talk of a new bedroom? Is it potty training? I guess we'll never know unless Felix wants to spill the beans ??

Given the sudden HOT weather, Mummy hit the shops this week to buy Felix some lighter spring / summer style shoes.

Sometimes in our household, we have some rather late mornings.

Felix is too interested in playing with his toys, Daddy is catching up with the football results and Mummy most likely is having a cuppa tea.

But everyone is pretty happy and of late Felix has even been protesting to get out of his jarmies at all.

Felix is lucky to have three grandfathers born in April (within the space of 6 days) and today is Bon Papa's birthday. Bon Papa has come to Paris for a few days to celebrate his birthday with Felix, Mummy and Daddy.

Felix and Mummy visited the park one morning and Felix had great fun running around exerting some of that 2 year old boyish energy.

Felix was quite taken by THE BIG SLIDE and had great fun running up and down the stairs and zipping down the slide.

All was looking good (and safe)...

Until he realised he could go faster lying down...

At which point there were a few unexpected dismounts...

Some better than other, but Felix didn't seem to mind.

And would you believe even after all this fun, Felix still refused his nap to Mummy's horror!

Why have the Felix updates dropped off of late? Well apart from everyone having a huge to do list with our new move, it seems our little angel has disappeared. And instead, this is what Mummy has been dealing with daily.

A little boy that doesn't nap and dislikes going to sleep and is generally a tyrant, not to mention incredibly bossy. So if anyone sees our angel can you point him in the direction of Paris please!

(Having said that of course we still adore him, it's just we prefer our sweet little angelic Felix!)

And so it begins, Felix has started wearing his big boy undies. Not all the time but when we are at home we take off his nappies and he gets to wear his brand new underwear (un slip). He is doing pretty well although Mummy is somewhat surprised at how many 'slips' we go through each day with one accident or another. But fingers crossed it won't take too long. Will it?

The other weekend we all caught up with Ben, Olivia & their folks at the Orangerie for some afternoon fun (great hat Olivia!).

Felix and Ben quickly claimed someone's skipping rope and had great fun running around & around the grassy area together.

Then after all the great fun with Ben, it was time for playing ball with Olivia and her Mummy.

A lovely afternoon for all (and the Daddies didn't budge once from their sunny spot on the park bench!).
